Adding items to a wedding registry can be a fun and challenging time. If you are looking for a list of the essential home goods to add to your wedding registry, you are in the right spot.
Since my new home purchase coincided with my engagement (check out the photo above, taken two months before we purchased a house!), I knew that I needed to be strategic with what I was placing on my wedding registry.
I scoured all the best wedding registry websites to come up with a list of the top 15 home essentials to put on a wedding registry. If you’re building your own wedding registry, you’ve probably seen a few items that seem to make it on every list. What this post will show you are the ones that you might have missed, and the ones that are absolutely essential to include for your home.
Whether you’re looking to add gifts from Walmart, Amazon, or Target (my top 3!) I’ve got you covered. When you finish reading this post, you will have a complete list of the top 15 home items to add to your wedding registry.
This post is all about wedding registries.
1. Eufy Robot Vacuum
If you’ve read my post about the Best Vacuums on Amazon, then you know much much of a fan I am of anything that does the work for me. As a teacher, a dog and cat mom, and a grad student, I need things in my house that are going to make my life easier, not more difficult.
As you know I already have one Eufy robot vacuum, but when it came to my wedding registry, I was sure to add another one. This one will be placed downstairs so that I don’t have to make the trek up and down the stairs with my current one.
If you’re new to the robot vacuum game, I highly recommend starting with Eufy. They were my first robot vacuum purchase and they have yet to steer me wrong (no pun intended!).
2. MacKenzie Childs Collander
Ok, so I fully admit that I was the first to criticize MacKenzie Childs in the past. I thought their products were overpriced and outdated. Now that I own one I can confidently say how wrong I was in my assumptions. Now, is this colander something that you absolutely need in your life? No, no it is not. Is it pretty though and the perfect complement to your French Country chic decor? Yes, yes it is.
Adding this piece to your registry is the perfect splurge item and something that makes you wait in anticipation checking your registry each night to see if it was purchased. Add this item to your wedding registry to add a bit of French Country flair to your home.
3. Dual-Touch Bedside Lamps
Never underestimate the value of a touch base lamp. I have one of these beauties in my basement and can’t say enough positive things about it! I love having the ability to just gently tap the frame when I can’t see in the dark. The added benefit of being able to charge my phone in the base is also amazing.
4. Entryway Rug
There are so many things that I love to get secondhand- but a rug just isn’t one of them. Of course, if the rug is brand new or barely used secondhand then there is nothing better, but since most rugs are well-loved, adding a new rug to your wedding registry is a great idea.
I love this one for its warm clean feel and would place it in by any door in your house.
5. Stylish Marble Cutting Board
This stylish marble cutting board will add some jazz to any kitchen counter. It is stylish and usable, which just happens to be two of my most favorite things to combine!
If you’re like me and you’re rocking the non-marble countertops, this will step up your boring countertop game in all the best ways.
6. Kitchen Aid Hand Mixer
I must admit, this wasn’t my first choice of mixers when I started adding items to my wedding registry. I grew up seeing my aunts, cousins, and friends who are AMAZING bakers using the stand mixer on their countertops, you know the one that is featured in all the magazines, Instagram posts, trendy MUST HAVE lists.
That was the blender that I also envisioned sitting on my kitchen counter. Then, reality set in and I realized, not only did I not have much room on my counter to place this blender, but I also don’t really bake. Two things I felt I needed to do in order to justify adding it to my life. In truth, we all know that a wedding registry is just that, a registry. You can add anything and everything you want to it.
Personally, I knew this cute little hand mixer would more than suffice for all of my baking needs. I love the eggshell blue color it comes in and can’t wait to use it on my first cake I bake a wife (don’t hold your breath, Brad!).
7. Decorative Mirror
I’ve mentioned this a few times on here, but I’m also a new homeowner, which means I see a new area of my house that I am eager to decorate every five seconds. I love the aged wood accents on this mirror and would love to hang it over my dresser in the master bedroom. If you are a fan of French country decor like me, this is the perfect piece for your room!
8. Home Security Alarm
Remember that new house I mentioned? I’m big on keeping it safe. I feel like every little noise I hear is an indication of certain death, so this nest home security system is exactly what I need to make sure I feel safe. I chose Nest due to the fact that I also have a few Nest cameras in my house, mostly to watch my dog during the day, but there are a few options with great reviews just like this, if you prefer another company.
8. Suitcases
I can’t wait to explore the world with my soon-to-be husband! Having new carry-on suitcases when we start on our adventures will ensure that our travels go smoothly. I chose this brand due to the fact that I have used my old trust TravelPro carry-on for the past 6 years and it has yet to fail me! I originally bought mine at Marshall’s, and have loved it ever since. I can’t wait to see all the new features in this favorite brand of mine.
9. Tablecloth and other Home Linens
Table cloths are the one thing that I never think to buy when I’m buying other lines. They are the just not as much fun to me to purchase as kitchen towels or placemats. That was until I saw this French Country cutie, and knew it would be the perfect addition to my dining room table. If you’re looking to bring a little French country charm to your kitchen this is the perfect item for you!
10. Kitchen Island
If you’re starting out like me and have a small kitchen space to work with, you might be on the hunt for the perfect kitchen island. When we first moved in, we purchased a smaller version of this island by another company and have been left disappointed by its countertop space. This rolling cart was the perfect solution to our countertop problems.
